Went here back in June - Remain sober today, had some of the most fun of my life there, everyone accommodates you and genuinely cares! If I had to recommend anyone to any rehab it would be this one

Tim & Eileen were instrumental in my daughter's success. Harbor of Grace represents Tim's vision of what an addiction recovery facility should look like. Tim, Eileen and their staff are able to slow-life-down for the patient and approach the healing process for the patient in a strong ethical & moral environment just like (in my opinion) the parent of a troubled child would. Because they are not "the patient's" parents, they are able to connect with-out being constrained-by or entangled-in "family history". I think Tim and Eileen saved my daughter's life. Steve Martin

My sister and brother in law have both been through the 30 day program at Harbor of Grace. Both remain sober. As a family member, they encouraged weekly visits with our loved ones and were helping us understand the disease. I think it's a nice place. It's in the town of Havre De Grace and is a small rehab where people get plenty of attention. The apartments are very nice and well equipped. If I were an addict- I'd go there. We had previously visited Father Martin Ashley, but I found that to be more of a hospital setting and it's three times the price. Of the two I preferred Harbor of Grace. They definitely treat the patients humanely and it's a nurturing environment. My sister did complain about some of the "therapy". She said one day they criticized all the patients and she found that humiliating- but I think they've stopped that "game". If not for that one thing- I'd give the place 5 stars.

I left Harbor of Grace about a month ago - still sober- and had a very different experience than a previous reviewer. I never review anything publicly and have been trying to focus solely on my program as instructed but when I came across this review just recently I had to add my two cents. The staff at Harbor of Grace were caring and professional. I felt like a respected human being for the first time in a while there. I learned a lot from the lectures and speakers and had an amazing counselor - Eileen Thompson. The "rooms" which are really apartments are nicely furnished with television and full sized kitchens. There are only 2 people per apartment - males in one building and females in a separate building. They allow us to choose from a list of healthy foods (and even allowed me to add my favorite brand of cereal) that they shop for (at no additional expense to us) so that we can have breakfast and lunch in our apartment. We did go out most nights for dinner - again, never having to pay for anything additional - and, yes, this was to local restaurants that if you want to eat healthy you have to pick and choose more carefully. The rules are the rules and if you don't stick to them some privileges, like a cell phone, will be taken away until you can focus again on what the goals are - having been to other treatment centers I never was allowed my phone or computer at all. They helped me establish a solid plan for when I left and allow me to come back for AA meetings - which I try to as much as possible - I know I can call there any time if/when I am struggling and a caring person will be on the other end of the phone (I really wanted to stay longer and was afraid to leave). The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because they were just installing a new security system right before I left and it was disruptive- I wish that had been put in before it opened. I am forever grateful to Harbor of Grace and I feel sorry for that previous reviewer because they were not accepting of a great opportunity to get well. A Grateful Recovering Alcoholic, Linda B
